Fellow Residents:
I hope everyone had the opportunity to enjoy the absolutely beautiful weekend in our City! It was such a joy to see so many children, families and residents walking, riding and safely enjoying our parks and open spaces!
With that said, I want to again thank all of those individuals on the healthcare front lines.
I am also pleased to report that several conversations with those front line providers would seem to validate that Kansas (and KCMO) have flattened the curve. Barring some massive change, we have the healthcare resources to address this challenge. Thank you again!
Four updates for you on the fabulous Sunday evening:
1)
As expected, Governor Kelly this week extended the Kansas Stay-at-Home Order until May 3rd. You will read this week about the wrangling between the governor and the legislature on the date as well as the debate on religious gatherings.
2)
Both Johnson and Wyandotte Counties publically said they will not follow Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas’ lead and extend the Stay-at-Home’s until May 15th.
3)
The Johnson County Board of Commissioners meets tomorrow (Monday, April 20th at 3pm). Information about watching that meeting live can be found here:

4)
The White House released the “Opening Up America Again” guidelines. Those can be found at the link below. Thankfully, the states have a great deal of discretion on what is appropriate for local conditions.

Thank you for your continued resilience! As always, if you have any questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to call City Hall at 913-362-9620 or info@missionhillsks.gov, or email me directly at mayor@missionhillsks.gov.
Have a fabulous week. Enjoy Spring in Mission Hills!
