Dan Sullivan is serving a third term on the City Council having been first elected in 2012, re-appointed in 2015, and elected in 2025. Dan also served on the Architectural Review Board, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Planning Commission. He served on the Tomahawk Roads Association HOA as board member and treasurer.
Dan has a long interest in public service and improving the cities he has lived in and worked on throughout his career. He is particularly interested in the Design Guidelines adopted by the city and the careful process that the ARB uses to review and approve projects to maintain a cohesive, beautiful city. He believes the city is well run and very thoughtful in maintaining and improving the infrastructure – stormwater, roads, sidewalks, and right of way landscaping and amenities – to assure the quality of life in Mission Hills.
He and his wife Sarah Toevs Sullivan moved to Mission Hills in 2009. He is a retired sports architect with his architecture degree from KU. He previously served on the Lenexa City Council. He participated in the Leadership Kansas and KC Centurions leadership programs. Dan and Sarah have three grown children and two grandchildren and enjoy spending time with them in Colorado.
