Bill Bruning

Bill Bruning has served on the City Council since 2017 and previously served on the Architectural Review Board and Planning Commission and as president of the Tomahawk Road Homes Association. He believes that during his 20 years in Mission Hills the City has been well run and his goal is to help maintain this continuity. He notes particularly the City’s success in accommodating changes in building patterns while maintaining its natural and architectural beauty, through the collaborative efforts of the City Council, citizen boards and professional staff.

Bill, a retired health care and real estate attorney, attended Davidson College and holds BS, MBA, and law degrees from The University of Kansas. Active in non-profit corporations locally and nationally, he has served as chair or president of the boards of Truman Medical Center, REACH Healthcare Foundation, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Kansas City Landmarks Commission, Historic Kansas City, and the University of Kansas Natural History Museum.
